On Wednesday, the Secretary of the Family & Social Services Administration and the acting state Insurance Commissioner publicly released a memo they had sent to Governor Daniels earlier in the week outlining the cost of federal health care reform in Indiana. Based on both independent and internal analysis, the memo stated that Indiana taxpayers must foot the bill for between $3 billion and $3.7 billion in federally mandated state-level health care spending over the next ten years. - Timothy Wesco
