Wesco Receives NRA Endorsement

Endorsed by the NRATimothy Wesco, the Republican candidate for State Representative in District 21, secured another powerful endorsement this week. The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund endorsed Wesco because he is a “pro Second Amendment/pro-hunting candidate who supports gun owners and sportsmen,” according to Ashley Varner, the Indiana State Liaison for the NRA Institute for Legislative Action.

The NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is the NRA's political action committee. The NRA-PVF ranks political candidates - irrespective of party affiliation - based on voting records, public statements and their responses to an NRA-PVF questionnaire.

Wesco said that he’s “thrilled to receive the backing of the most powerful voice in support of the 2nd Amendment in the country. I’m grateful that the NRA stands strong in the support of our Constitution and the Founders’ vision of a free America. I look forward to working with them to advance the interests of Indiana’s law-abiding gun owners."

Wesco Responds to Slanderous Attacks by Opponent; Demands Apology

Background:

Wesco's Response:

I find Mr. Fish’s attempt to impugn my character and integrity absolutely offensive. To bring up legitimate questions seeking explanation would have been acceptable. Calling me a criminal in public is not. He shamelessly claimed that I have “committed a crime” that I am illegally avoiding property taxes and that I have committed perjury. This public slander of my reputation in front of my house is completely unacceptable.

When I purchased the home earlier this year, it was not in a livable condition. Among other things, I found termite damage and other conditions that prevented the home from being occupied. As confirmed by the St. Joseph County Auditor's office, I have until December 31st to move into my home and still claim a homestead exemption for this year. By that time, I fully anticipate completing the necessary remodeling and making the home livable.

With a simple phone call to the Auditor's office or any competent attorney, Mr. Fish could have obtained this information. Rather, he hastily and recklessly scheduled a press conference and accused me of criminal activity. This is dirty and desperate politics.

I demand a public retraction of these false statements from the Fish Campaign and an apology by Mr. Fish.

Then, I hope Mr. Fish turns his attention to the real issues in this campaign, including his vision for jobs. Voters want answers, not false allegations.

Update 10/4/2010 - Prosecutor concluded that criminal charges are not appropriate in this matter. Read the prosecutor's entire statement (PDF).

Wesco Concerned About Cost to Indiana of Federal Health Care

On Wednesday, the Secretary of the Family & Social Services Administration and the acting state Insurance Commissioner publicly released a memo they had sent to Governor Daniels earlier in the week outlining the cost of federal health care reform in Indiana. Based on both independent and internal analysis, the memo stated that Indiana taxpayers must foot the bill for between $3 billion and $3.7 billion in federally mandated state-level health care spending over the next ten years. - Timothy Wesco

Wesco Stands with Arizona

"Our states and local governments are feeling the consequences of pathetic federal inaction.  It is time for bold laws on the part of our state legislatures across this nation to give our local communities the tools they need to preserve law and order and to stand up to Washington, D.C., for not enforcing its own laws. I support Arizona and its immigration law and will work for similar legislation in Indiana."  -Timothy Wesco

American Family Assn. PAC Endorses Wesco

Leading Pro-Family Group Endorses Timothy Wesco for State Representative!

(Indianapolis, IN) - The American Family Association of Indiana PAC announced that it has endorsed Timothy Wesco for State Representative in House District 21.

The long economic recession and the historic issues coming from Washington in recent months seem to have awakened Hoosier voters all across Indiana. With just one week left before the May 4th primary, many analysts and political observers are wondering what outcomes this increased voter interest might produce.

“One of the impacts of this politically active year is that a whole new host of candidates have stepped up to run for office. Timothy Wesco is one of the exciting new faces on the political scene in Indiana. We are very proud to stand with Tim in his run for State Representative. We believe Timothy Wesco has put together an outstanding campaign and has a bright future in Hoosier politics,” said Micah Clark, President of AFA of Indiana PAC.

“Supporting Timothy Wesco in the May 4th Primary and the November election can ensure that House District 21 maintains the pro-family and pro-life representation it has come to expect with State Representative Jackie Walorski now running for US Congress,” said Micah Clark, AFA of Indiana PAC President.

The AFA of Indiana Political Action Committee was formed in March 2006 for the purpose of educating voters about candidates who embrace traditional values and issues that impact families, churches and communities.

Indiana Family Action PAC endorses Wesco

Indiana Family Action PAC endorses Timothy Wesco

Indiana Family Action PAC today announced their endorsement of Republican candidate for House District 21, Timothy Wesco.

“Tim is a true conservative champion who shares our traditional Hoosier values,” IFA PAC Executive Director Ryan McCann said. “The freedoms we cherish are under attack now more than ever. That’s why we need strong conservative leaders like Tim Wesco fighting for us every day at the Indiana Statehouse. I’ve worked with Jackie Walorski for years down in the Indiana House of Representatives on pro-family, pro-life, pro-marriage issues and know what a fighter she is for conservative values. We need an outstanding conservative like Tim Wesco to follow in her footsteps.”

Timothy Wesco has been an outspoken advocate for traditional marriage and the lives of the unborn during his campaign for the Republican nomination for House District 21. With long-time liberal activist groups like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Indiana Equality and others attempting to socially engineer a traditionally family-friendly state into their image, it is vital that we support pro-family statesmen like Timothy Wesco.

Indiana Family Action PAC is the sister organization of Indiana Family Action and Indiana Family Institute. Indiana Family Institute is the state affiliate of Focus on the Family. Indiana Family Action PAC is committed to helping principled state leaders dedicated to pro-family values become elected public servants.

Repeal Health Care

Wesco Urges Attorney General Zoeller to continue to pursue a legal challenge to the Federally mandated health-care bill.

Timothy Wesco applauds Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller and Gov. Mitch Daniels for their leadership in seeking to repeal the federally mandated healthcare bill. Timothy urges Attorney General Zoeller to continue to pursue this path to protect Indiana from a Federal government which has deliberately placed mandates on our state which are destructive of our already stressed economy. Zoeller said Monday that he is pondering a legal challenge to the federal health-care reforms that passed the U.S. House of Representatives on Sunday night, joining the ranks of attorneys general in at least fourteen other states who have indicated an intention to challenge the constitutionality of the legislation's provision that would require citizens to buy health insurance.

The mandates this bill places on the states are unsustainable and will bankrupt the state of Indiana, forcing us to spend money we do not have. These mandates are a violation of the 10th Amendment. This is no longer just a Federal issue; the states must react immediately. In a time of economic strain, this Federal power grab--which is the largest in American history--will destroy any prospects of putting Hoosiers back to work. Indiana must lead the charge to fight this devastating tax increase which stampedes the Constitution and will actually provide much lower quality health-care for Hoosiers. It must be repealed.

Wesco on WFRN Radio News

On WFRN News with Reporter Don Wagner:

"The Indiana Senate has overwhelmingly voted for a state constitutional amendment to protect the sanctity of marriage, but it's future in the House is grim. The amendment would define the union of marriage as only between one man and one woman, banning counterfeit marriages and preventing activist judges from overturning our current marriage laws. The vote in the Senate was 38-to-10, but Democrat House Speaker Pat Bauer of South Bend has repeatedly said amending the state's constitution is not necessary, since Indiana law already bans same-sex marriages. WFRN sat down with Mishawaka Republican Timothy Wesco, who's running for Jackie Walorski's soon-to-be vacant House seat and talked about the marriage debate at the Statehouse. Wesco says we need to keep putting pressure on Bauer to allow the House to vote on sending the Marriage Protection Amendment to the voters to decide. 30 states have passed Marriage Protection Amendments, including Michigan."
